Language analysis on various editions of Tamil Naavalar Sarithai [தமிழ் நாவலர் சரிதை – பிரதிபேத ஆராய்ச்சி]

Abstract

பண்டைய தமிழ் நூல்கள் பத்தொன்பதாம் நூற்றாண்டில் பதிப்பு வாகனம் ஏறுகின்றன. பின்னாளில் ஒரு நூலின் மதிப்பு மற்றும் தேவையினைக் கருதி அந்நூலுக்கு மறுபதிப்போ அல்லது உரையோ எழுகின்ற போது அந்த நூலினுள்  சில மாற்றங்கள் ஏற்பட வாய்ப்புகள் உருவாகின்றன. அவ்வாறு உருவான மாற்றங்கள் இன்று வரையிலும் தொடர்ந்துகொண்டு தான் இருக்கின்றன. இவ்வாறான  மாற்றங்களினால் பதிப்புகளில் சில தவறுகள் நிகழ்கின்றன. தவறான பதிப்புகள் ஆசிரியர் கூறவரும் பொருள் தவறாகப் புரிந்துகொள்ளப்படுவதற்கு ஏதுவாகின்றன. இவ்வகைத் தவறுகளில் ஒன்றாகக் கருதப்படும் பதிப்புகளிடையே காணப்படுகின்ற பாடபேதங்களை உதாரணமாக ‘யன்றி’ என்பது ‘யின்றி’ என்றும் ‘வூழிக்காலத்திற்’ என்பது ‘வூழிகாலத்துத்’ என்றும் ‘யாகவும்’ என்பது ‘யாகியும்’ என்றும் ‘வாய்மையிற்’ என்பது ‘வாய்மையுங்’ என்றும் ‘தெம்மையுங்’ என்பது ‘தெம்மை’ என்று இவ்வாறாகக் காணப்படும் பாடபேதங்களைத் தமிழ் நாவலர் சரிதையில் இனங்கண்டு அவற்றினை விளக்கும் வகையில் இக்கட்டுரை அமையவுள்ளது. மேலும், விளக்கமுறை ஆய்வும், ஒப்பிட்டுமுறை ஆய்வும் இக்கட்டுரைக்கு பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
