Kajian ini bertujuan meneliti Pengajaran dan Pemudahcaraan (PdPc) mata pelajaran Sains menggunakan Information Communication Technology (ICT) sebagai media instruksi dalam kalangan guru di Sekolah Jenis Kebangsan (Tamil) luar bandar di negeri Perak. Kajian ini dijalankan terhadap guru-guru Sains di SJK(T) luar bandar di negeri Perak. Kajian ini berbentuk kajian kualitatif yang melibatkan tiga instrumen utama iaitu instrumen pemerhatian, temu bual semi berstruktur dan nota lapangan. Data kajian kualitatif dikumpulkan, diproses serta dianalisis dengan menggunakan perisian Quirkos. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa amalan guru yang berasaskan ICT mengutamakan peranti persembahan perisian Microsoft Power Point. Majoriti informan mengaku yang perisian Microsoft Power Point telah membantu menyampaikan PdPc Sains dengan berkesan kepada para murid di SJK(T) luar bandar. Informan juga mengaku kelebihan perisian Microsoft Power Point, mesra pengguna dan perangsang telah menjadi faktor-faktor yang mendorong para informan menggunakan perisian Microsoft Power Point, sebagai peranti persembahan mereka. Melalui kajian ini, satu budaya penggunaan ICT yang mantap diterapkan dalam proses PdPc Sains di SJK(T) luar bandar yang boleh dijadikan amalan pelbagai pihak yang berkepentingan. Maka kerajaan boleh meninjau kelebihan perisian Microsoft Power Point dan menjalankan beberapa sesi latihan untuk guru-guru memahami perisian Microsoft Power Point dengan lebih mendalam. Tindakan ini mendorong guru-guru mengaplikasikan perisian Microsoft Power Point dengan lebih meluas semasa PdPc mata pelajaran Sains di kelas.
[The purpose of this study is to study the Teaching and Facilitation (T&F) of Science subject using Information Communication Technology (ICT) as a medium of instruction among teachers in rural Tamil schools in Perak state. This study was conducted among Science teachers in rural Tamil school in Perak state. This study is a qualitative study involving three main instruments namely observation instruments, semi structured interviews and field notes. Qualitative research data were collected, processed and analyzed using Quirkos software. The findings show that ICT-based teachers’ priorities the use of Microsoft Power Point software for presentations. The majority of informants claim that Microsoft Power Point software has helped to deliver Science T&F effectively to students in rural Tamil schools. The informants also acknowledge the advantages of Microsoft Power Point software. It is very user-friendly and stimulant have been factors that have prompted informants to use Microsoft Power Point software, as their presentation device. Through this study, a strong culture of ICT use has been incorporated into the T&F Science process in rural Tamil school which can be practiced by various stakeholders. Thus, the government can review the benefits of Microsoft Power Point software and conduct several training sessions for teachers to understand Microsoft Power Point software in greater depth. This will encourage teachers to apply Microsoft Power Point software extensively during T&F Science subject in the classroom.]
