Abstract

The development of moral thinking is one of the aims of Moral Education Curriculum in Malaysia. Mastery in moral thinking skills which embodied in the moral dimension is essential to produce a fully human. This article discusses the use of Forum Theatre in moral education class in secondary schools. The involvement of students in four steps such as; develop a script, anti-model play, forum session and intervention play also discussed. This study was conducted using action research design. A total of 18 participants involved in this study. Focus group interview technique, observation and journal entries used to collect data. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis method. The findings indicated that Forum Theatre techniques were able to develop moral thinking among form four students.

[Perkembangan aspek pemikiran moral menjadi salah satu matlamat kurikulum Pendidikan Moral di Malaysia. Penguasaan elemen pemikiran moral yang merupakan salah satu elemen kemahiran yang terangkum dalam dimensi moral penting untuk melahirkan insan yang sepenuhnya manusia. Artikel ini membincangkan penggunaan Teater Forum dalam mengembangkan pemikiran moral murid sekolah menengah. Murid kelas Pendidikan Moral telah dilibatkan dalam keempat-empat langkah Teater ForumĀ  seperti mengembangkan skrip, lakonan anti-model, sesi forum dan lakonan intervensi. Kajian ini dijalankan dengan menggunakan reka bentuk kajian tindakan. Seramai 18 orang peserta terlibat dalam kajian. Teknik temu bual kumpulan berfokus, pemerhatian dan catatan jurnal digunakan untuk mengumpul data. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan kaedah analisis tema. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan teknik Teater Forum mampu mengembangkan pemikiran moral dalam kalanganĀ  murid tingkatan empat.]
