Abstract

The use of technology in teaching and learning can engage students in a variety of activities and help them learn more than the basic information found in textbooks. This study was conducted to analyse the use of Google Classroom application in the learning process in primary schools. The objective of this study was to identify the level of use of Google Classroom application in teaching and learning process by primary school teachers. A total of 100 teachers who teach in Kinta Utara district schools, Perak using the Google Classroom application were used as respondents to collect information. This study is a quantitative study. A Likert -scale questionnaire was used as a research instrument to determine the level of use of the Google Classroom application. This study is descriptive and computer analysis was performed using SPSS software version 24.0 to obtain an accurate percentage of data. The results of the analysis showed that 61 teachers (61.0%) use Google Classroom to a moderate level. Although 10 teachers (10.0%) were at a relatively high level, only 29 teachers (29.0%) had a low Google Classroom usage rate. Mean scores and standard deviations for aspects of the level of use of Google Classroom in teaching and learning process by primary school teachers were at a moderate level (mean = 2.69, sp = 0.951). Due to this, the school plays a role in ensuring that all ICT facilities in the school are complete to improve teachers 'skills in using ICT and reduce teachers' workload.

[Penggunaan teknologi dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran (PdP) dapat melibatkan murid-murid dalam pelbagai aktiviti dan membantu mereka mempelajari lebih dari maklumat asas yang terdapat dalam buku teks. Kajian ini telah dijalankan bagi menganalisis penggunaan aplikasi Google Classroom dalam proses PdP di sekolah rendah. Objektif kajian ini adalah mengenal pasti tahap penggunaan aplikasi Google Classroom dalam PdP oleh guru-guru sekolah rendah. Seramai 100 orang guru yang mengajar di sekolah daerah Kinta Utara, Perak dengan menggunakan aplikasi Google Classroom telah digunakan sebagai responden bagi mengumpul maklumat. Kajian ini merupakan kajian yang berbentuk kuantitatif. Borang soal selidik yang berskala likert telah digunakan sebagai instrumen kajian bagi mengetahui tahap penggunaan aplikasi Google Classroom. Kajian ini bersifat deskriptif dan analisis komputer dilakukan dengan menggunakan perisian SPSS versi 24.0 untuk mendapatkan peratusan data yang tepat. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahawa kebanyakan guru (iaitu 61 (61.0%)) menggunakan Google Classroom hingga tahap sederhana. Walaupun 10 guru (10.0%) berada pada tahap yang agak tinggi, hanya 29 guru (29.0%) yang mempunyai kadar penggunaan Google Classroom yang rendah. Skor min dan sisihan piawai bagi aspek tahap penggunaan Google Classroom dalam PdP oleh guru-guru sekolah rendah adalah berada pada tahap sederhana (min=2.69, sp=0.951). Oleh hal yang demikian ini, pihak sekolah memainkan peranan dalam memastikan segala kemudahan ICT di sekolah adalah lengkap bagi meningkatkan kemahiran guru menggunakan ICT dan mengurangkan bebanan kerja guru.]
